Easter Weekend Festivities and Egg Hunts

SATURDAY, APRIL 4:
Head on down to Dayton for a big Easter Egg hunt starting at 10 a.m. at Abandoned Treasures, 5000 US HWY 50 East. Enjoy photos with the Easter Bunny, Pony Rides, a raffle, prizes, a bounce house, and vendors.

Capital Christian Center is hosting their 4th Annual Egg-stravaganza with over 16,000 candy stuffed eggs, pictures with the Easter Bunny, and tons of fun starting at 10 a.m. There will be staggered start times and zones for different age groups and for those with special needs. The hunt takes place at Seeliger Elementary School, 2800 S. Saliman Rd, with parking available on Baker Dr. and Fremont St; please do not park in front of the school or in bus loading areas. Western Nevada College’s Latino Club will host the annual Easter Fiesta event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Carson City campus, 2201 W. College Parkway. Everyone is welcome to come enjoy two Easter Egg Hunts, as well as a number of games, including face painting and a coloring contest.

Lahontan State Recreation Area Easter Egg Hunt starts at 10 a.m. Over 200 local children ages 12 and under participate in this event each year. The event consists of a hunt for plastic Easter eggs filled with candy and a raffle for items such as gift certificates, food vouchers, Easter baskets and toys. To reach the Silver Springs Day Use Area, enter from the Silver Springs entrance off of Fir Street.

Kiwanis Club of Carson City holds their annual Easter Egg Hunt at Centennial Park, just north of Eagle Valley Golf Course, with more than 8,000 eggs and hundreds of prizes. The hunt will begin promptly at 11:00 a.m. and is free to all children. Come and see the Easter Bunny and collect Easter Eggs!

Get your picture with the Easter Bunny at the Carson Mall from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.

The Annual Easter Bonnet and Pet Parade hits Virginia City on Saturday. Line up and registration begins at 11:30 a.m. at the Jerky Company on C Street. Parade begins at 12 p.m. Registration is accepted the day of the parade, but advance registration helps the parade run more smoothly. Contact nvhikers@msn.com or call 220-7072 for more information.

The South Valley Volunteer Fire Department is hosting its annual family Easter Egg Hunt at Washoe Lake State Park. Meet at the Day Use Area lawn: turn left from the main entrance and it’s the third parking area on the right. Virginia City's First Annual Easter Egg Hunt put on by VFW Ladies Auxiliary is from 1:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. at St. Mary's Art Center, 55 North R Street. First hunt is for ages 6 and under, followed by ages 7-12. Basket prizes for prize eggs, plus piñatas $1 a whack. See you there. Contact: 775-847-7774 for more info.

Celebrate Easter at Mallard's Restaurant at the Empire Ranch Golf Course, Sunday, April 5 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. All you can eat Buffet Styling Easter Breakfast/Brunch: Adults $17.95, children 12 and under $9.95, Children four years and younger are free. RSVP Encouraged; call 775-885-1019.

First Baptist Church of Carson City, 1750 Mountain St., will hold an Easter egg hunt open to the community to be held immediately after the 10:45 a.m. service on Easter Morning.
